When an unplanned pregnancy occurs, a young father becomes reincarnated into his newborn son. This is the story of a young mother and father learning the beauty and hardships of parenthood.
Inspiration for this film comes from my own personal experience. When I first found out I was pregnant, it was during my senior year of college. I had just turned 22 and was still so young to even think about being a mom. We thought we had it all figured out; however, an unplanned pregnancy was a complete curveball in me and my boyfriend’s life plan. With abortion and reproductive rights being a relevant topic nowadays, I think it is important to show my story. In no way did I nor do I intend to make my film controversial. I only intend to show to the audience my life choices and what good can come out of it. I hope that Lilies pull at the audience’s heartstrings and make them think of this piece with their own families. I want viewers to understand the beauty of parenthood, even if it might not be for them. I want people to realize that sometimes it’s not about where you come from, but what you make out of it. If you didn’t come from a good family, make sure a good family comes from you. With lots of love, Jolyna |
